The Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) of the University of Strasbourg was pleased to organize a conference on the topic “Artificial Intelligence, Innovation and Intellectual Properties”. This conference, which was held under the high patronage of the Parliamentary Office for Evaluation of Scientific and Technological Assessment (OPECST) and Senator Ronan Le Gleut, took place on 7 November 2019 (Salle Clemenceau) at Luxembourg Palace, Paris.
The conference aimed to present the latest developments in the field of artificial intelligence and to confront them to the questions related to intellectual property rights. Thus, the concrete applications of artificial intelligence were presented in the main industrial sectors. These learning algorithms which pose difficulties of apprehension by the Law, the questions concerning the intellectual property rights (patent, copyright) were dealt, from the point of view of the artificial intelligence systems themselves, in terms of the results they produce, as well as the protection of the data themselves that feed these systems.
This event was held under the scientific supervision of Mr. Franck Macrez, Associate Professor at CEIPI, University of Strasbourg and Mr. Yann Basire, Associate Professor at CEIPI, Director General and Director of the French section of CEIPI, University of Strasbourg.
