On February 14th, the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies of the University of Strasbourg organized in partnership with the Strasbourg Biennale of Contemporary Art a round table on the topic “Adapting Copyright to the Digital Environment in the EU: the impossible reform?”.
The round table took place at the Café of the Strasbourg Biennale of Contemporary Art, Hôtel des Postes, within the framework of the Biennale dedicated to the citizen in the digital world (https://biennale-strasbourg.eu/touch-me/) and consists of a free discussion involving artists, MEPs, political advisers and academics on the future of copyright in the online world.
The introduction to the round table was made by Yasmina Khouaidjia, Commissioner of the Strasbourg Biennale of Contemporary Art, and Christophe Geiger, Professor at the University of Strasbourg, Director General and Director of the CEIPI Research Department.
The speakers were:
- Florian Mehnert, Artist and exhibitor at the Strasbourg Biennale of Contemporary Art
- Julia Reda, Member of the European Parliament
- Michel Vivant, Professor at the Sciences Po, Paris and at CEIPI
- Giancarlo Frosio, Senior Researcher at CEIPI.
The round table was chaired by Christophe Geiger, Professor at the University of Strasbourg, Director General and Director of the CEIPI Research Department.
