CEIPI Summer School on IP in Europe
For the second year, CEIPI is organizing a Summer School on IP in Europe. The courses will be held from July 5 to July 10, 2010.
Registration fees amount to 1300 Euros and include:
accommodation in a double room from July 4 to 11, 2010 in a 3-star hotel ; half-board (breakfast-lunch) ; the initial evening meal on July 4, 2010 ; two excursions in Strasbourg, including a visit of the European Parliament

Joint Degree Skopje Faculty of Law and CEIPI : Master Programme (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property Law
The SS. Cyril and Methodius University Iustinianus Primus Law Faculty in Skopje and the CEIPI, are launching the first edition of the Master Programme (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property Law, established through a Tempus project and supported by the European Commission.
The programme will focus on international and European perspectives of intellectual property (industrial property, copyright, neighbouring rights and other related disciplines), indispensible to young professionals who wish to play a leading role in the area of intellectual property.
Enrolment is open untill July, 25 at the website of the Faculty of Law of Skopje.

Yves Reboul awarded "Commandeur dans l'ordre des Palmes Académiques"
We are very proud to annouce that Professor Yves Reboul is awarded "Commandeur dans l'ordre des Palmes académiques".
The ceremony took place at the CEIPI on June, 18.
Yves Reboul has served 10 years as General Director of CEIPI untill 2008. He is now Director of the French Section.
Walter Holzer, in charge of the development and international relations at CEIPI
During the last Administrative Board of the CEIPI that was held on 04 June 2010, it was decided to launch a mission leading to the development of international relations.
Walter Holzer, former President of the Institute of Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi), co-founder and coordinator of the CEIPI-epi Course on Patent Litigation in Europe has accepted to carry out this mission.

WIPO/INPI/CEIPI Course on Legal, Administrative and Economic Aspects of Intellectual Property
Between June 14 and 25, CEIPI has organised in collaboration with the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) and the I.N.P.I. (Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle) the annual training course for officials of intellectual property offices in developing countries . You may dwnload the programme of this course.
This year, participants came from Algeria, Brazil, Cameroun, CentreAfrican Republic, Indonesia, Kenya, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Mexico, Pakistan, Sénégal, Serbia, Singapore, Suriname, Tajikistan, Tunisia and Ouzbékistan.

End of the Academical year at CEIPI
The closing ceremony of the academical year for the "Patents" and the "Trademarks and Industrial Designs" tuition took place on June, 25 with the traditional ceremony of communication of results followed by the farewell party gathering some of the lecturers, students, the CEIPI team and the presence of Paulin Edou Edou, General Director of OAPI (African Intellectual Property Organization)

Thesis defence : The protection of geographical indications and its interest for the developing countries
We are pleased to announce that on June, 25 François-Xavier Kalinda defended his thesis written under the supervision of Professor Yves Reboul.
The topic was :"The protection of geographical indications and its interest for the developing countries".
The Jury was composed of Yves Reboul, Professor, CEIPI, University of Strasbourg, Norbert Olszak, Professeur at the University Paris I Panthéon - Sorbonne, François Magnin, Professor at the University of Bourgogne, Céline Meyrueis, Associate Professor at the CEIPI, University of Strasbourg and Paulin Edou Edou, General Director of OAPI (African Intellectual Property Organization).
CEIPI Employment and Internship offers
CEIPI is recruiting a Post-doctoral legal scholar specialzed in intelledftual property with a French and/or international background. The successful candidate is expected to actively take part in ongoing research at the CEIPI, especially in the framework of European and international research projects.
We are also looking for a legal intern expected to advance the educational and research missions of the CEIPI.

A former CEIPI student awarded the APRAM second prize
We are pleased to announce that Miss Cécile Giacometti, who obtained the CEIPI diploma "Master in Industrial Property, Contracts, Competition Law" in 2008-209, has been awarded the second prize of the APRAM (Association des Praticiens du Droit des Marques et des Modèles) for her work on the topic ""Is the restoring of monopoly (i.e. through trademarks or unfair competition) legitimate after the design-rights expiration ?".
