This course is intended for holders of a M1 in Private Law, European Law, International Law, Comparative Law or Business Law as well as for French or foreign lawyers wishing to specialize in intellectual property. In addition, the program is open to holders of a M1 in political science who have taken the legal courses.
Prerequisites
Students who have completed an M1 in "Private Law", "European Law", "International Law", "Comparative Law", "Business Law" (or equivalent) as well as students who have completed an M1 in Political Science may be admitted to the M2 European and International Intellectual Property Law program. Students must have validated, during their studies, the subjects listed below (or equivalent): law of obligations, property law, knowledge of French and European institutions.
An excellent level of English (written, read, spoken) and experience studying abroad are required. A first introduction in the field of Intellectual Property Law is an asset.
Foreign students, whether they come from the EU or not, must fulfill the conditions listed below. The required subjects may be waived for students who have experience in the field of intellectual property law. A good command of French is required of foreign students: various forms of proof are accepted.

Submission of applications for the academic year 2022/2023 will be open between Mars 15 and May 15, 2022.
Educational objectives
The "European and International Intellectual Property Law" program aims to give students an understanding of all the dimensions of intellectual property, as they are dealt with by French law, foreign law, and especially European Union law and international law. The program proposes to respond to the imperatives of opening up to Europe and the international scene. The program also aims to meet the expectations of students who wish to engage in a research process, by deepening the research methods that will be implemented in the writing of a thesis.
Thus, at the end of their training, students will be able to pursue their research in order to obtain a doctorate in one of the fields of intellectual property in a French or foreign university. In addition, students will be able to pursue their studies abroad to acquire a command of a foreign language and increase their skills. Moreover, students will be able to embrace the various professions in intellectual property (some after a specific professional examination): liberal professions (lawyers, industrial property attorneys), company lawyers (industrial property, literary and artistic property), civil servants in national or European Union industrial property administrations, civil servants in international organizations.

UE1 - National and comparative intellectual property law (12 ECTS)

Among others, literary and artistic property law, trademark law, patent law, design law, litigation of intellectual property rights.
UE2 - European Intellectual Property Law (12 ECTS)

Among others, EU institutional law, European intellectual property law and its litigation, European case law in intellectual property law, functioning of intellectual property offices.
UE3 - Legal English applied to intellectual property (6 ECTS)
UE4 - International Intellectual Property Law (12 ECTS)

Among others, plurilateral and unilateral international conventions on intellectual property, private international law, international cooperation on intellectual property and interaction with other international conventions
UE5 - Research paper (18 ECTS)

Written in English or French.

Type of training and certification
This training constitutes an adaptation and development of skills. It leads to a national Master's degree in "Law, Economics and Management", with a specialization in Intellectual Property Law, Program: Intellectual Property Law and Cultural Activities, subject to compliance with the evaluation of knowledge and skills, which are made known to the students.
Assessment
For lectures, written and/or oral exams, in French and/or English. In addition, a dissertation defense which takes place either in French or in English, depending on the language chosen by the student with the agreement of the dissertation director.
Duration
1 year.
Timetable
As an indication, the courses take place from Monday to Friday in the following time slots: from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00. Exceptionally, classes may be held on Saturdays. In addition, students attend scientific conferences/events throughout the year which may take place after class.
